The 2021 MacBook Pro saw Apple do what it does with utmost sophistication: keep things simple. Apple seemed to be tinkering too much with the MacBook Pro. The TouchBar was added - a divisive feature - at the cost of function keys being removed. It yanked off the ports - preferring form over functionality - and the keyboard issues with the MacBook Pro were notorious. The MacBook Pro has been an anomaly in this as Apple at times tinkered with it too much. Keeping things simple has always been Apple’s forte and something that Steve Jobs really instilled in the company’s design and product philosophy. You get the M1 Mac, M1 Pro Mac and the M1 Max Mac. You get the good iPhone, the better iPhone and the best iPhone (generally the Pro series). Back in 1977, Apple came out with a marketing brochure that declared, “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” To keep things simple, Apple has mostly followed the rule of three: the good, the better and the best.
